The low standard of living in these communities too often means that families and schools are unable to provide children with the adequate tools they need to aid in their physical and mental development. Many children in these communities do not have access to age-appropriate toys and tools to ultimately enable their short and long term development.

Schools aim to equip its students with a safe and nurturing learning environment that will help children to grow and develop into intelligent adults and give them hope for a bright future as an educated individual. Unfortunately due to the nature of the community, these facilities struggle financially and need additional support to provide the children with the resources they need to enrich their education.

How can we help?

HOPE 4 THE SPECIAL PEOPLE has slowly embraced this model by initiating projects that will reduce these difficulties and barriers. Also empowering the educational facilities to better the targeted communities.

There are two distinct phases of the project to better target the needs of the schools.

Phase One of the Educational Support focal project seeks to educate parents and children on the importance of literacy or education, enhancing academic performance, giving voice to the girl child, support strategic renovation of school to change work towards a safer learning environment for children and enable the school in the formal registration process. Being able to register the school with the government will increase its funding and in turn enhance the quality of education at the facility. It will also give the school assess to forums which will help with skills development and empowerment of the teachers in this facility above all provide school suppliers and other material needed by school.

In addition, Phase Two of the project enriches the children’s education by providing much needed funding in order to purchase age-appropriate educational toys and teaching supplies. These resources will equip children with the tools they need for healthy cognitive and physical development. As a part of our commitment to sustainable development, teachers and staff will be able to attend workshops and other training programs which will build their knowledge and capacity as effective educators.  Through this approach we aim to equip teachers with the skills they need to enrich the children’s education while also empowering themselves as skilled professionals.


Short Term Impact:

Phase one seeks to create safe and secure learning environments for the children at school by completing a list of necessary renovations. While phase two aims to provide each student with age and development appropriate toys as well as learning tools that will enable well-rounded learning, sparkimagination and allow them to become actively involved in their learning process.

Long Term Impact:

Phase one strives to give continues education to parents and children on the importance of literacy or education ultimately register the school as an educational government facility. As a registered school, the facility will become eligible for government funding which will further improve the children’s education and increase their sustainability. Phase two aims to provide adequate tools for healthy and holistic child development. When children’s development is supported at a young age, they are well equipped for their schooling career. Evidence indicates that success in early year translates into success in higher levels of education.

The communities

With the aim of making a sustainable change in the lives of the most disadvantaged, we partner with communities whose populations face the complex challenges associated to poverty on a daily basis.

Kwaman saints’ peters catholic schoolis one of the located area that have benefited from this project.It’s located atbawjuase in the Awutu senyah district in the central region of Ghana.One of the larger townships with the population of 5000 people. Most of the people in this village are farmers growing pineapples and is a very quiet town.Most houses are built from clay, showing the level of poverty in the area. The only school in this area is the kwamanSaint Peters catholic school. This is a very agricultural community, with several large plots of land located outside the community that grow produce. Residents in Kwaman have very limited access to basic utilities such as water, sewage, electricity and health care. This is partly due to the remote and inaccessible location.

Our work within Kwaman saint peters catholic schoolhelp to shape important sustainable change in the education of the communities’ most vulnerable yet most impactful population, its children.
